I actually just joined to see a friend's artwork that was otherwise hidden by mature screening. She was going to host it elsewhere, but I had already signed up. And then I actually looked at this as yet another way to inspire myself. If there's a whole site dedicated to diverse types of artwork, maybe I too can work out some skills I haven't used in a while and learn from the mistakes I make as I go along.

Most of my "work" would just be for me, working off things that interest me and likely won't interest anyone else. Things I find neat to look at but would surely warrant scoffs from more professional sketchers. That's just how the world goes. I admit to being average. I don't think I'm an artist, but it sure is fun messing around in the paintbox.

I don't have any meaningful art instruction as my basis. I did photography amateurly in high school, sat in a few exploratory art classes and slept, designed album covers and posters for a few bands and I watched every Bob Ross episode one can recall. I was also a fan of Commander Mark, the 3d drawer on PBS. And that crazy show Bill Cosby did with the whirlygig pen.
